DIGM 4372: Costing in Digital Media

In 4372 we were first assigned to submit our resumes to selected project leaders. Our classmates then made their decisions and we could accept or decline their offer. This was a test to see if we could "sell" ourselves to others. I was selected first from the person who I was in a group with. During the remainder of the course we were taught how to describe, demonstrate, compare, analyse, integrate, and critique the digital media work flow of a print company. As we were introduced to each step of the process of calculating costs of materials and labor which were incorporated into our group project where we made-up a company and sold our idea to sponsors.

Products of our project were: budgeted hourly rates (BHR), video pitch (seen to the right), presentation booklet, any and all photos of our make-up products.

Our videos and presentation booklets were viewed and graded by graduate students majoring in supervision and leadership along with our professor's critique. The Tree Frog Labels Company came in 4th receiving an A.
