DIGM 3152 & 3252: Graphic Production Process Control 2 (lab and lecture)

In 3252 accompanied by the separate lab 3152 we printed out many documents that were pre-made for us because the purpose of this class is to learn the technical aspects and process of the press and post press operations. We are learning the science and engineering history that went into creating presses too. For example lithography uses the concept that water and oil do not mix therefore the print area is oleophilic (likes oil) and hydrophobic (dislikes water) while the non print area is oleophobic and hydrophilic. The water and ink levels have to be monitored carefully though as not to push either off balance this will result in either ink in non image areas, too much ink, not enough ink, or watered down areas.

Printed off of a Xerox Phaser 7760GX Color Printer (2 up) front and back. We had to match the back to the front by moving it .017 inches.

Variable data project where we had to create an excel document structured carefully so it would work with the variable data function in InDesign.  We were able to design these as well.

Printed off of a Xerox Phaser 7760GX Color Printer (2 up). We were experimenting with color shift within the RIP program before printing.
