SALES LETTER - STATIC DATA
Built from scratch with captured Microsoft Word text carefully spaced in Adobe InDesign CS6 using character and paragraph styles. Printed on an oversized paper to accommodate the bleeds off of a Xerox Phaser 7500DX Color Printer. Single-folded.

Made from scratch with utilizing the gradient tool, layers, and pages panel in Adobe InDesign CS6. Captured Microsoft Word text was carefully spaced using points and picas. Printed document was cut and folded.

MEASURING GRAY VALUES
Measured the darkness, K value, in Photoshop CS6 then calculated the reflecting light and
approximate ink density using the proper equation. Imposed in Adobe InDesign CS6 document.

HALFTONE DOT TERMS
Composed in Adobe Photoshop CS6 to illustrate the optical illusion created by different types of halftone dots. Upscaled to make dots visible. Shows how 45° angle is least visible and prevents moiré. Imposed in Adobe InDesign CS6.
DOT GAIN
InDesign CS6 document that is composed to illustrate the importance of dot gain. The grayscale at the bottom shows specific press’ smallest and largest printable dot size. This is called fingerprinting, which is important for
getting the best quality production from a specific machine. Dot gain is added to images in Adobe Photoshop CS6 before placing images into InDesign Document.
EFFECT OF DOT GAIN
Different dot gain added to an image in Adobe Photoshop CS6 to illustrate a printing press’ characteristics. Images then placed to InDesign CS6 document and printed on an oversized paper with marks and bleeds.
TONE CORRECTION CURVES
Tone correction curves added to an image in Adobe Photoshop CS6 to illustrate how tone curves can improve the final printed image. Images then placed to InDesign CS6 document and printed on an oversized paper with marks and bleeds.
CUSTOM DOT GAIN
Images’ dot gain is set in Adobe Photoshop CS6 based on previously measured characteristics of a specific press to obtain the best results. The process is called fingerprinting. Document is imposed in InDesign CS6 and printed on 11x17 paper with marks and bleeds.
VECTOR VS. BITMAP IMAGE
This document illustrates the difference between raster and vector images. Notice that raster images get pixelized when up-sampled, whereas vector images remain clear.

8-PAGE BOOKLET
Contains 4 different types of images: scanned line art at 1000ppi, scanned gradation of tone images with 266ppi, digital images with 266 ppi, and vector images. Booklet imposed in Adobe InDesign, using different types of images, page numbers, special characters, bullets and numbering, bleed objects, reverse text, and drop cap. Printed on 8.5x11 paper with all marks and bleeds. Then cut and folded into a booklet.

SALES LETTER - VARIABLE DATA
Used XMPie plug-in in InDesign CS6 to create Variable text Data for different customers. Linked a CSV file containing all of the customer’s information and photos. Printed on 8x11.5 to show a press’ inability to bleed. Accordion folded.
