Houston; Redemption

Set in modern downtown Houston, the story follows alongside the main character Sam E. Gibbs, a senior investigator for the local police department.  Sam is haunted by his daughter’s death, who’s murder case went unsolved, with him as the lead investigator.

Because of him being unable to solve the case, he blames himself for not bringing the perpetrator to justice.  Eventually, a similar case occurs with an unrelated family, and his haunting past is once again thrown before him.  Our main character chooses not to take the case, but eventually it catches up to him.

Not only is this a story of justice for the unrelated family who’s daughter was murdered, but a story of self-retribution for the main character’s sense of failure, and the past he struggles to come to terms with.
