Sam E. Gibbs, a veteran investigator for the Houston Police Department, is a troubled yet hardened man. He's one running from his past and trying to forget his failures.  Just one year ago, his daughter was murdered. The perpetrator was at large, and there was no significant leads.  Sam was the lead investigator on that case, and to this day he still blames himself for failing to bring retribution to the man who caused him and his daughter grief.  Now, Sam lives alone, as he has no immediate family.  With his wife's death three years ago, as well as the death of his daughter, he's a shadow of the man he used to be.  Can he really forget the past, or will the present stop him from doing so?
